My female Doberman loves to bark, she is very smart she opens gates and if I tell her stay then I leave she will just get up and go. Do you know any good books from experience?

You need a very big book! dont read it, just hit yourself around the head with it for being such a stupid dog owner. i hate idiots like you & the dog is smarter than you. that makes you a mute.

I don't think it is a stubborn dog, I think it is an inexperienced trainer. You are better off getting her into classes, ie a local Petsmart. Books can only tell you the words, and if your dogs reactions and behavior is different from what the book offers, then it is no good. I bought a horse that was trained from a book and it was the worst experience of my life. Good luck

Lol. I think the book your probably looking for is the bible, because with a headstrong dog you'll need the patience taught in it. I know from experience that some dogs just don't take well to training in the conventional sense. It's then that you need to start thinking outside the box. How do you raise kids? on expectations you set for them, right? That's usually the best bet for training a stubborn dog. And no I'm not saying just because you expect the dog to behave it will, I'm talking set the bar and let the dog rise to it by playing games, discipline, and rewarding; just like raising a kid. Try reading any book by Ceasar Milan, he's pretty good at reinforcing the whole rules, boundaries, limitations.Good luck, I now how "fun " a stubborn dog can be, but I think they're the more rewarding dogs in the end.

Dogs can be adorable pets but if left untrained, these can also be a pain in the neck. I am sure that like me, you have also been embarrassed by your dog in the presence of friends or family. I once had an adorable dog named Lucky. He had this annoying habit of putting his front paws on people’s legs and doing “those” motions. You can understand my embarrassment especially if the victim of Lucky’s adoration happened to be a lady. Believe me; I had to spend hundreds of dollars to seek professional help for Lucky. But this was before development of Secrets to Dog Training. I found this helpful hillaryreviews.com/ Recommends/ dog-food/ What they offer: Learn six powerful strategies for training aggressive dogs. Learn how to make the dog understand what you want from him. Reveals all the secrets of professional dog trainers that are easy to apply. How to prevent the dog racing out of the front door. Learn powerful and effective techniques for dog house (toilet) training. Learn dog whispering which is a totally humane and effective technique to train your dog, and make it work for you and your dog. If your dog has any of the annoying habits such as pulling on the leash, eating other dog’s pooh, learn how to deal with it.

Books are a little out-dated. Dog training videos or DVDs are better as you can see/ hear the training commands and also the body language of the trainer. Make sure you only look at dog training DVDs that have been made by a professional dog trainer. You can buy these as downloads these days too which means no waiting. Enjoy training your dog as it's a great opportunity to bond well with your dog.
