How do people become legit dog breeders?
I have no plans on becoming one, all I have are fixed shelter mutts, but I have always wondered how people become real breeders not just byb.
Why do some dog breeders pre-name puppies?
I've never, for one second, understood why some dog breeders pre name puppies. That's just mean, and inconsiderate for the person who's buying the puppy.I mean, they may want to actually NAME the puppy themselves. I'm not sure if anyone else has ever heard of a dog breeder doing this, but I've heard of plenty of them doing it. I mean, I don't think they mean any real harm, but I hate it when they do this.
I have a question for some dog breeders or a Vet.?
I think I might have a BIG problem on my hands About a week I ran into a lady that at walmart that said she had to move and couldn't take her 3 year old dog with her. She was looking for someone to give her a home. We have been looking for a smaller breed " house" dog for a while now. When I was younger we always had Jack Russells. Well, This one was so cute I decided I would give her a home because I didn't want to see her go to the pound. She told me the dog had been spayed and was up to date on all her shots and worm meds and that she was house broke, just let her outside to roam free for about 20 mins to do her business and she would come back inside. Well, i went to walmart and bought all the supplies I would need to care for this dog including a leash and collar. My yard isn't fenced in so I was afraid once I let the dog out that she wouldn't come back in so I made a zip line like thing that I could hook her 25 ft leash to. It was just your normal metal wire that I ran between 2 trees so she would have plenty of room to play around while outside for a few minutes. That night I took her out on the leash to use the bathroom because it was dark and there was no need to leave her out for a while. Well, the next day i hooked her to the zip line and she seemed to love it. Since I was scared that she would hang herself or something i decided to stay out with her and just watch her play for a while. Now, this morning, almost a week later I put her outside and actually left her for about 3 4 minutes. I just went inside to use the restroom and came right back outside and she was tied with a stray dog She was supposed to be spayed.. I have no clue about dogs or breeding or anything like that well I freaked out and started hollering at the dogs and clapping my hands then I guess she got nervous because shes still not used to me and let him go They couldn't have been tied no longer than like 2 minutes at the most I know I shouldn't have broke up the tie but I was a little scared because I had never seen it happen before and i didn't know if she had ever had puppies and everything like that.. it was just an over reaction from me being irresponsible because I had left her to use the restroom. So here are my questions.1 If she has never had puppies before, if she was to have gotten pregnant, could she be in danger?2 Since they couldnt have been tied or even active for more than 2 mins or so.. is it even possible she is pregnant?3. When I brought her inside I noticed she was spotting from being in heat which she wasn't that I noticed before I put her outside. If I had noticed I wouldn't have left her alone. But, a few hours later she stopped bleeding, and here it is 3 am and she hasn't bled yet. Does that mean she is pregnant?4. Since she isn't bleeding I assume shes either pregnant or out of heat, should I be worried about leaving her tied to the zip line alone? If I do have something to worry about how long should it be before I can be assured she isnt going to try to " mate" again?I really appreciate any information you all could give me on this issue. i know it may sound silly but im not all about her having puppies let alone a jack russell and a weenie dog mix LOL I know it was irresponsible of me to leave her, if only long enough to use the bathroom when she is so new to our family, but above all of that. I am actually worried about her Also, I would rather Adults with accurate information respond. I know there are alot of children that use this site so i don't want any nasty sexually remarks made or them making smart remarks in general. Thank you so much So, If she is no longer bleeding then that means she is out of heat? Either because she is pregnant, or her time is just over? Could she still be in heat and be able to get pregnant even when she isn't bleeding?I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the lady lied about the dog being fixed I think that was pretty crappy of her. If I would have known I would have watched or better and not left her alone for even a minute I am not too worried about the vet bills, I have a local vet that my family uses and he is awesome very cery cheap To get a dog fixed is only 30 dollars, cats are 20. Check ups are 25 dollars. Shots are around 20 dollars. If you do not have the money to pay right away he will write you a tab and you can make payments on it. They have after hours emergency. He is an old friend of the family , very old man, in his 70s. I have never seen a vet so great As far as being tied.. I am pretty sure.. they were butt to butt.. and when i clapped he tried to pull away and couldnt.. it actually took alot of yelling and it scared them into letting go. Now I do not know much about tieing.. but I am pretty sure they were locked. Any opinion on that now that I explained a little bette

How many of you dog breeders have parents who had to be genetically tested before they were allowed to breed?
how many of you dog breeders have parents who had to be genetically and confirmationally tested before they were allowed to breed? And if so, did they have to give birth with you only on condition of limited registration. I can only imagine, not many of you, or even me would have had parents deemed good enough to give birth.There was a point to be made, and i made it. I have a hunting breed of dog, she is very well bred. Her father is 2 time national champion, and the only dog of his breed to sire 2 national champions. I was seeking a male from a highly thought after line. Im running into a big problem with limited registration. My female is 5 years old. she is proven in the field to be an excellent example of the breed, and ive taken her to a well respected breeder who deemed her comformation ok to brees. but excuse me, weirdo breeders dont want to sell a dog without limited breeding even though im willing to pay for the best. i paid fifteen hundred dollars for my female as a pup. Dont you think i got her best interests at heart. all im running into are greeder breeders who tell me its not for the money, but by the way, the puppy is 1500 dollars. does no one see the scam? keep control of the bree, keep control of the breeding rights, keep control of the money what the heck has happened to this country?young, i respect your answer. i do have an impeccable dog, top breeding in the country, respected with my peers as being the envy of all the dogs we hunt with, she has been tested fo hips and good. i just think sometime breeders are going overboard. they expect more from a dog then they expect from the human race. nobody has yet to answer as to why breeders charge ridiculous charges for pups when its supposedly only about bettering the breed.

Why do dog breeders,put there puppy's on limited register for?
Limited register means they are sold as a pet and cannot breed or show,what is the point of this,your paying big $$$ for the dog and have no rights,why do breeders do this?I mean the breeder before he started breeding would of had to buy 1 on main register,is it greed or selfish?
