Rescue dog house training?
We just rescued a 1 year old German Shorthair a few days ago. He will pee outside with no problem, but will not poop. He is walked 3 times a day for about 2 miles each time and gets biked for 15 20 minutes twice a day. His energy is endless He didn't have any training as a puppy we think. Since Wednesday, he has learned to sit on command, walk on a leash properly, lay down, use stairs, and leave it. But he will only poop inside. Since his first accident he's under supervision all the time. We've caught himtrying to go to the bathroom twice since then. He was about halfway done both times. So I stopped him and took him into the yard. I waited for 2 and a half hours both times. But he won't go. He just runs around for a minute and then sits down and waits for me to take him back inside. When I do after the 2.5 hours he goes and lays down or plays. But he doesn't try to poop again. What else can I do?All the other dogs I've trained have given up and gone outside withing 10 minutes, but he's perfectly willing to wait.Thank you, he is in a crate for sleeping and whenever we can't watch him. The only time he's been able to get away to try and go is when he runs down stairs and starts immediately. Thank you for the advice.

Older dog house training?
i'm adopting an 3 or 4 yr old dog that was rescued from a puppy mill just a week or two ago. since he is used to being in a cage all the time he isnt completly house broken does anyone have any ideas that might help me house break him? also he is small about 4 lbs and white and fluffy if anyone has any name suggestions? that would be great thanks

Older dog house training at night?
If anyone has any advice i would apreciate it, i have a 18mth maltese cross, and other than this problem is perfect and well behaved. But at night he has accidents most nights with number one's and two's. Never during the day, we have always put him out at night for at least 15mins, we would walk him but from a pup he has never fowled outside his own garden, so there seems no point, but at a last resort we did but to no joy. He can go for up to two weeks dry but then it starts again and we are left racking our brain thinking what we did different. So please, any tried and tested methods would be fanastic. Thanks Lorraine

Advice on dog house training problem?
We have a 7 month old cocker spaniel who is still peeing and sometimes pooing in the house. He is taken outside regularly and often will pee when told but still hasn't caught on that this is the way to behave. We clean up using non ammonia based products but he has peed under a very heavy bookcase and I think the wood has absorbed his urine. Any tips on removing the odour and generally on stopping this behaviour. We have had no problem in past training dogs. This is wearing us out no we did not use puppy pads.We do use a crate, he doesn't pee in that. Obviously we watch him but not every minute, which is all it takes

Have you ever heard of a dog house training themselves?
We just adopted a Chow Husky mix from the shelter and I swear, he is perfect in every way. He has the best temperment, doesn't chase my cats, and has even house trained himself. When we adopted him we got to talk to the person who helped rescue him and she has known him his entire life. He was a dog that never was allowed to interact with his humans and for sure was never allowed inside. He was also probably hit in the head alot and kicked. We've had him inside with us since we brought him home and he hasn't had a single accident, not even when he REALLY had to go. He's been very good at going to the door when he needs to go out. Anyone ever heard of this?

Why cant I get my dog house trained?
I have a 7 month old Blue Tick Beagle and I have had her for about three months now. When I got her she was crate trained, and I have continued to use the crate. But she seems to go to the bathroom in the house all the time. She obviously knows it bad because as soon as she does it she hides. Thats when I know to look because she did something wrong. Now she is at the point where she will go get in her cage all by herself when she goes in the house. Everytime she goes outside i tell her good girl and give her a treat. When she goes inside she gets punished. I have been trying for 3 months. What am I doing wrong? If she is in the middle of going and i look at her, she runs. So I know she knows its wrong. She has even peed on my bed three times. She usually goes right in front of the door, but she wont let me know she has to go out. Sometimes i will let her out and she will go, then come in and go inside. This is very annoying HELP I let her outside as soon as she wakes up, as soon as i get home and let her out of her cage, about ten minutes after she eats she usually has to poop by then . I also do watch her, she has to stay by me she doesnt really get to far from me. she doesnt give any signs that she has to go thats what i meant by not telling me . she also doesnt SIT and the door. she just goes to the bathroom there no warning

Dog house training..?
i am getting a small dog in a month but he is ALMOST house trained. i have no idea where to start with house training him..help

How long before I can consider my dog house trained?
I keep thinking my dog is potty trained and then I will come home and there will be pee in the house. He is good about not pooping in the house, but sometimes he still pees. If I leave him in his crate, he will hold it so I know he can hold it overnight and at least for a few hours during the day. A few days ago, he had gone a while without an accident, so I thought it was time to give him a little more space the rest of the kitchen . He was fine for about 4 days and then peed in the house right when I thought he was getting the hang of it. I only work 3 hours a day this summer so I am around a lot and let him out all the time. How long should I wait for him to go without an accident before I can officially consider him housetrained? Or even let him graduate to more space when I'm not home? He does seem to understand that he has to go out to pee when i'm home because he'll bark at the door. He's a seven month old shih tzu if that helps. He had a previous owner for the first 6 months of his life who did not really train him so we are starting from scratch.

How to get my crate trained dogs house trained.?
Ok, so here is the situation. I have three mini dachshunds, two boys rex and rudy and a girl ruthie . They are all up to date on shots, no medical problems, and they are all fixed neutered and spayed . They are perfectly crate trained, and have no problem going to the bathroom outside. When we let them back from being outside they can be with us for ours and have no problems. But once we leave them by themselves is when we have a problem. If me and my girlfriend leave the room they are in most of they time one will pee or poop if we are gone for more than 2 minutes. Again if we are in the room they have no problem and they are fully crate trained and go to the bathroom outside fine. We just want to transition them to think the entire two rooms are there " crate" so they know not to go to the bathroom. Help please on transtioning?

We have 2 dogs right now, Roxy who is a Yellow Lab. Mix, almost 4 years old, and Bella who is 3 4 Shih Tzu and 1 4 Terrier, who is a year old. Anyway, Bella is the one who needs help.
