There are a wide variety of training collars on the market, but I find that most of them are very helpful, yes. It depends on what you are wanting to train for. If you want to train your dog not to walk in front of you, then you want a Gentle Leader. If you want to train your dog to pull a cart/ sleigh then harnesses and a whole bunch of other stuff are needed. Or, if you just want to train basic Obedience then you have a choice between a pinch, or choke chain collar. Both are effective, neither are torture. Before you buy any training collar and use it, you need to make sure that you know what you are doing. If you put the collar on wrong, it won't work and might hurt the dog. If you use the collar wrong then you might hurt the dog. Also, you could end up just making a situation worse by not knowing how to train or use the collar as a training tool. |
