How to train a dog?? (14 week old puppy?)?

Question: How to train a dog?? (14 week old puppy?)?

Hi, we just got a new 14 week old Chocolate Lab puppy, (her name is Hazel) And she will have to stay inside until April to be sure she gets all of her Puppy shots so I wanted to teach her How to Sit, Stay, Roll over, etc. I was wondering, She is doing really well with Sit so far (I got her yesterday) but how many times a day should I work with her? And should I keep doing it for maybe 1 week or something before I teach her something else? Thanks!! I have a bag of Chicken treats (Dried chick strip things) And ok, thanks!! Okay Poodle power, I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE TELLING ME THAT ITS CRUEL TO KEEP A DOG OUTSIDE. DOGS LOVE BEING OUTSIDE A LOT MORE THEN STAYING CRAMPED INSIDE ALL DAY SO SHUT THE CRAP UP.

You should spend as much time training her as possible so she gets it. The more training, the better she'll remember. I'd do it everyday, anytime I have some time to train her. Or do it when it's convenient. #

Reward her with treats when she does something good, reward her frequently but nothing so fattening she will get fat. For sitting I usually hold a treat slightly above the dogs nose then gently push on the dogs lower back and she'll sit. Once you've got that down, for roll over I do what I do for Sit then quickly drop it down to the ground with my hand and she should "lie down " then do a 360 and roll her over gently. As for stay I do sit, then put out my hand like a policeman saying stop and gradually move slower and further back, then when I want her to come to me I drop down and show her the treat.

Dogs hsould always live inside with there owner as they are pack members so she the humans in there life as pack members. Whats the point of having a dog if it lives outside alone. As for trainning.Puppies have short attention spans so need you to train them the basics for short periods so they don't get bored. It is always a good idea to use treats as rewards. Each puppy is different so you need to be patient and train at there own pace adding new things slowly.

Yes, it is good to use treats for tricks, but eventually you should wean them off of the treats. And make sure that when you train your dog to sit, stay, and roll over, and that you don't touch the dog with your hand to train.
