Chihuahua puppy training question?
My 10 week old chihuahua puppy is now learning to sit and come. I've been giving him TINY bits of cheese as a reward since all of the small treats I bought for him weren't good enough for him, lol. He's a picky eater. He's rather smart for his age, because I just started sit training last night and he already has it pretty figured out. My only problem with him is that he is more food motivated than affection motivated. He likes to do what HE wants and all he wants from human hands is food or to bite them. He never wants to be petted, he just wants you to play. So I'm worried that when he is older that he will only preform a command if there is a treat involved, and completely ignore me if he knows I have no treat. I want him to accept petting as a reward as well as a treat. I understand a treat is of higher value to him that affection, but how do I get him to appreciate affection? Can some one please help?
Stop biting puppy training advices/devices?
I've got a 5 month old pit bull puppy. shes got teething toys and everything, but when i take her outside, she puts her leash in her mouth and jumps up and tries to get the handle part of the leash but ends up biting me. when she plays tug of war, she always bites my fingers from getting so overwhelmed. any suggestions or training techniques to stop this? including training devices.
Do puppy training classes really work?
I was wondering if I should take my new puppy to a puppy training class, I haven't really ever trained a puppy before and I want her to be able to listen to me and actually learn things the right way. She needs to get potty trained and also crate trained and I have no idea how to really do this. If you have ever taken your puppy to a training class please tell me how it turned out with you and your dog?

Im thinking about training my puppy to use puppy pads and to go outside. I just wanted the puppy pads to be a " backup" . How can i do that?

Anyone experienced in puppy training?
I'm practically in tears. I need help We recently got 2 female chihuahua sisters and they are adorable but they are real naughty. If I don't train them I'm not getting any support from my brother or sister my dad is threatening to give them away, we're moving to a farm and he says they will be outside no matter what and the closest they will get to the house is the garage, and it is COLD. How can I train them to sit, stay, come, and etc.? Desperately in need, help if you care about two helpless chihuahua puppies
8 week old puppy training tips?
I'm getting an 8 week old girl maltese poodle mix maltipoo this Friday. This will be my very first puppy and I am extremely excited I've been doing a ton of research on training the pup, are there any other training tips that you can give me? Things like how I can potty train her, teach her tricks, etc.. How will it be like on the first day that I get her? Also, what kind of dog food and shampoo do you prefer to get for maltipoos? About how much times per week should I groom her? Do I have to get up in the middle of the night to take her out to go potty? Please be informative, include as many things that you can for me to know, I want to do the best that I can on training her And please don't be rude or add any unnecessary comments, I will delete them or report you.

Need serious help with puppy training!!?
we have a four month old border collie and we have had her since she was about 5 wks. I cant potty train her for the life of me. i need help. no kenel potty training tips either please. she doesnt go throughout the night, and i take her out about every 2 hrs. sometimes if she has to go she will just go right there. i tell her NO and she just keeps going. then i bring her outside and she just starts playing. i ignore her, but still nothing. if i see her walk or look funny i take her out. please help thanks.I also am downstairs most often and her food is upstairs. should i bring her food downstairs and container downstairs with me? I do praise her when she is outside and i was told not to look at her after she pees because of an alpha thing. submissive peeing. thanks again.
